    Section 01

    Our Commitment to Responsible Gambling

CrimsonDeck Entertainment Ltd. is deeply committed to promoting responsible gambling and protecting the wellbeing of all players. We believe that gambling should be an entertaining leisure activity and we take seriously our role in ensuring it remains that way for every person who chooses to play on our Platform.

Our responsible gambling program is built in compliance with AGLC regulations, RG Check certification standards (Responsible Gambling Council), and the iGaming Alberta Act, S.A. 2026, c. I-1.5. We work closely with GameSense Alberta, the Responsible Gambling Council of Canada (RGC), and SelfExclusion.ca to deliver best-practice player protection.

Every CrimsonDeck employee who interacts with players receives training in responsible gambling awareness, problem gambling identification, and appropriate referral procedures. Our platform monitoring systems continuously analyze player behaviour for signs of harmful gambling patterns, and we proactively reach out to players where concerns are identified.

Responsible gambling is not an afterthought at CrimsonDeck — it is central to how we operate. We would rather a player feel confident using our safety tools than chase losses in distress.

    Section 02

    Gambling Responsibly — Principles

Responsible gambling means making informed, deliberate choices about when, how much, and how long you gamble. The following principles are the foundation of responsible play:

    • Gamble for entertainment, not income: Treat gambling as a form of paid entertainment, like going to a movie or a sports event. Never view it as a way to make money, pay bills, or recover financial losses.
    • Set a budget before you play: Decide in advance how much you can afford to spend and stick to it. Use our deposit limit tools to enforce your budget automatically.
    • Set time limits: Gambling can be time-absorbing. Set a time limit before each session and leave when it's up, regardless of whether you're winning or losing.
    • Never chase losses: Losing is a normal part of gambling. If you find yourself increasing bets to recover losses, stop playing and take a break.
    • Don't gamble under emotional distress: Avoid gambling when you are stressed, depressed, anxious, or experiencing personal difficulties. Gambling in these states increases the risk of making poor decisions.
    • Balance gambling with other activities: Gambling should be one leisure activity among many, not the primary source of entertainment or social interaction.
    • Understand the games: All casino games are designed with a house edge. Understanding the odds and RTP values of games helps you make informed decisions.
    Section 03

    Recognizing Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can develop gradually and may not be obvious at first. The following warning signs may indicate that gambling is becoming harmful:

    • Spending more money or time gambling than you intended or can afford
    • Gambling to escape from stress, anxiety, depression, or other emotional difficulties
    • Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when not gambling or when trying to cut down
    • Lying to family members, friends, or employers about the extent of your gambling
    • Borrowing money, selling possessions, or using savings to fund gambling
    • Neglecting work, family, or personal responsibilities because of gambling
    • Feeling that you need to gamble with increasing amounts of money to experience excitement
    • Repeatedly failing to keep promises to yourself about cutting down or stopping gambling
    • Experiencing guilt, shame, or regret after gambling sessions
    • Gambling to win back money that has been lost (chasing losses)

If you recognize any of these signs in yourself, please do not hesitate to use our responsible gambling tools or contact the Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-866-332-2322.

    Section 04

    Self-Assessment Questionnaire

Answer the following 9 questions honestly to assess your relationship with gambling. These questions are based on the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI), a validated tool used by mental health professionals in Canada:

    1. Have you bet more than you could really afford to lose in the past 12 months?
    2. Have you needed to gamble with larger amounts of money to get the same feeling of excitement?
    3. Have you gone back another day to try to win back money you lost?
    4. Have you borrowed money or sold anything to get money to gamble?
    5. Have you felt that you might have a problem with gambling?
    6. Has gambling caused you any health problems, including stress or anxiety?
    7. Have people criticized your gambling, or told you that you had a gambling problem, whether or not you thought it was true?
    8. Has your gambling caused any financial problems for you or your household?
    9. Have you felt guilty about the way you gamble or what happens when you gamble?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we strongly encourage you to use our responsible gambling tools, contact GameSense Alberta at gamesenseab.ca, or call the Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-866-332-2322. Answering yes to 3 or more questions may indicate a gambling problem requiring professional support.

    Section 05

    Tool 1 — Deposit Limits

Deposit limits are one of the most effective tools for keeping your gambling within a budget you can afford. CrimsonDeck allows you to set limits on the amount you can deposit over three time periods:

    • Daily Deposit Limit: Maximum amount you can deposit in any 24-hour period
    • Weekly Deposit Limit: Maximum amount you can deposit in any 7-day rolling period
    • Monthly Deposit Limit: Maximum amount you can deposit in any calendar month

    How to Set Deposit Limits

Log in to your account, navigate to Account Settings → Responsible Gambling → Deposit Limits. Enter your preferred limit amount for each period. Limits take effect immediately upon saving.

    Cooling Period for Increases

To protect players from impulsive decisions, increases to deposit limits are subject to a mandatory 72-hour cooling period before they take effect. During this period, your existing lower limit remains in force. You may cancel a pending limit increase at any time during the 72-hour window. Decreases to limits take effect immediately.

    Temporary Limit Removal

Temporary removal of deposit limits is not permitted without a 72-hour cooling period. Permanent removal of limits requires a 30-day waiting period and acknowledgment of our responsible gambling terms.

    Section 06

    Tool 2 — Time & Wager Limits

    Session Time Limits

You can set a maximum duration for each gaming session. When your session time limit is reached, you will be automatically logged out and shown a responsible gambling message. Time limits can be set from 15 minutes to 8 hours per session.

    • Daily session time limits can also be configured (e.g., maximum 2 hours per day)
    • A 5-minute warning notification is displayed before your session limit is reached
    • Increases to time limits are subject to the same 72-hour cooling period as deposit limit increases

    Wager (Loss) Limits

Wager limits cap the maximum amount you can lose within a defined period:

    • Daily Loss Limit: Maximum net loss in any 24-hour period
    • Weekly Loss Limit: Maximum net loss in any 7-day rolling period
    • Monthly Loss Limit: Maximum net loss in any calendar month

When your loss limit is reached, all real-money gaming is suspended for the remainder of the limit period. Your account will show a clear notification of the suspension and its duration. As with deposit limits, increases to wager limits are subject to a 72-hour cooling period.

    Section 07

    Tool 3 — Reality Checks

Reality checks are periodic notifications that appear on your screen during play, reminding you how long you have been gambling and providing a summary of your session's financial activity.

You can configure reality checks to appear at intervals of 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Each reality check notification displays:

    • Total time elapsed in the current session
    • Total amount wagered during the session
    • Net wins or losses for the session
    • Your current account balance (real-money and bonus)
    • Options to continue playing, view your activity statement, or end your session

Reality checks cannot be dismissed without actively acknowledging them. This ensures the information registers, rather than being automatically bypassed. We recommend enabling reality checks for every gaming session, particularly for extended play.

    Section 08

    Tool 4 — Cool-off Periods

A cool-off period temporarily suspends your access to gaming on CrimsonDeck without permanently closing your account. This is ideal if you feel you need a short break from gambling but do not wish to self-exclude permanently.

    Available cool-off durations:

    • 24 hours
    • 72 hours
    • 1 week (7 days)
    • 2 weeks (14 days)
    • 1 month (30 days)
    • 6 weeks (42 days)

    During a cool-off period:

    • You cannot log in to your account or access any gaming functions
    • All scheduled bonuses and promotional emails are paused
    • Pending withdrawals continue to be processed
    • You may contact support for account queries not related to gaming access

Cool-off periods cannot be shortened once activated. You may request a new, longer cool-off at any time. Upon expiry, your account is automatically reactivated — you will receive an email notification before reactivation occurs.

If you feel you need more than a 6-week break, we strongly recommend using our self-exclusion tools rather than repeated cool-off periods.

    Section 09

    Tool 5 — Activity Statement

Your Activity Statement provides a complete, transparent record of all your gambling activity on CrimsonDeck. This tool is designed to help you understand your gambling behaviour clearly and objectively.

    The Activity Statement includes:

    • Complete deposit and withdrawal history with dates, amounts, and payment methods
    • Session-by-session gaming history including games played, total wagered, and net result per session
    • Bonus history including bonuses claimed, wagering progress, and bonus wins
    • Responsible gambling limit history including all limits set and changes made
    • Monthly summaries showing total deposits, total wagered, net gambling result, and average session duration

You can access your Activity Statement at any time by navigating to Account Settings → Responsible Gambling → Activity Statement. Statements can be filtered by date range (up to 12 months at a time) and exported as a PDF for your records. If you identify concerning patterns in your statement, please use our other RG tools or contact the Helpline.

    Section 10

    Tool 6 — Self-Exclusion: Platform Level

Platform-level self-exclusion permanently closes your CrimsonDeck account and prevents you from opening a new account with us. This is a serious and irrevocable commitment to stopping gambling on our Platform.

    How to Self-Exclude

Navigate to Account Settings → Responsible Gambling → Self-Exclusion, or contact our support team at [email protected] or 1-888-2583-542. Our responsible gambling team will process your self-exclusion request within 4 hours.

    What Happens When You Self-Exclude

    • Your account is immediately suspended — you cannot log in or place bets from the moment the exclusion is confirmed
    • Your real-money balance will be returned to you via your registered payment method within 5 business days
    • All marketing communications from CrimsonDeck will stop immediately
    • Your name and email will be added to our internal exclusion list, preventing future account creation
    • Your data is retained for 7 years as required by AGLC regulations, but your account cannot be reactivated during the exclusion period

    Self-Exclusion Duration

Minimum self-exclusion period: 6 months. You may request exclusions of 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, or permanent exclusion. Permanent exclusions cannot be reversed under any circumstances.

Requests to reverse or shorten a self-exclusion are subject to a mandatory 7-day reflection period and require confirmation via multiple contact methods before any reversal is considered, and only after the minimum exclusion period has expired.

    Section 11

    Tool 6b — Self-Exclusion: SelfExclusion.ca (Province-Wide)

For players who wish to exclude themselves from all AGLC-licensed online gambling platforms in Alberta — not just CrimsonDeck — we strongly recommend registering with the provincial self-exclusion program.

SelfExclusion.ca is Alberta's province-wide voluntary self-exclusion program, administered in partnership with the AGLC. Registration at SelfExclusion.ca excludes you from all participating licensed online gaming sites in Alberta simultaneously.

    How to Register with SelfExclusion.ca

    • Visit selfexclusion.ca and complete the online registration form
    • Alternatively, call the Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-866-332-2322 to register by phone
    • Provide your personal details including name, date of birth, and contact information
    • Choose your exclusion duration (minimum 1 year; options up to permanent)

    Our Obligations

CrimsonDeck receives regular updates from the SelfExclusion.ca register. We are required by AGLC regulations to screen all new registrations and existing accounts against this register. Accounts matching a self-excluded individual are immediately closed and the player's balance is returned. If a self-excluded individual circumvents this process and gambles on our Platform, any winnings will be forfeited and donated to problem gambling support programs as required by AGLC.

    Section 12

Support for Families & Concerned Others

Problem gambling affects not only the individual but also their family members, friends, and colleagues. If you are concerned about someone else's gambling, the following information may help.

Signs That Someone You Care About May Have a Gambling Problem

    • Unexplained financial difficulties, debt, or requests to borrow money
    • Increased secrecy about finances and online activities
    • Missing work, school, or family events without credible explanation
    • Unexplained mood swings, irritability, or anxiety
    • Finding gambling-related items such as betting receipts or casino notifications
    • Selling personal belongings or asking others for financial help

    What You Can Do

    • Talk to them: Choose a calm moment to express your concern without judgment. Focus on specific behaviours rather than personal attacks. Be prepared for denial — it is common in problem gambling.
    • Contact GameSense Alberta: gamesenseab.ca provides resources specifically for family members affected by problem gambling, including guidance on how to have difficult conversations.
    • Call the Helpline: The Problem Gambling Helpline (1-866-332-2322) offers support not only to people with gambling problems but also to family members and concerned friends.
    • Contact CrimsonDeck: If you believe a family member is using our Platform compulsively, contact us at [email protected]. While we cannot share account information due to privacy laws, we can take note of your concern and may be able to assist in accordance with our responsible gambling procedures.
    • Seek support for yourself: Living with a problem gambler is extremely stressful. Gam-Anon (the Gamblers Anonymous family support group) offers meetings and resources specifically for families at gam-anon.org.
    Section 13

    Protection of Minors

CrimsonDeck operates a strict zero-tolerance policy for underage gambling. Our Platform is for adults aged 18 years and over only.

    Our Measures

    • Age verification at registration (mandatory date-of-birth confirmation)
    • Full-screen age gate on first Platform visit requiring explicit 18+ confirmation
    • KYC identity verification before first withdrawal, including document confirmation of age
    • Monitoring for accounts where the registered user may not be the actual user
    • Immediate account closure and fund return if underage gambling is detected

    Parental Controls

We strongly encourage parents and guardians to use parental control software to prevent underage access to gambling websites. The following tools are recommended:

    • Net Nanny (netnanny.com) — Comprehensive parental control software for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Blocks gambling sites and provides activity monitoring.
    • CyberPatrol (cyberpatrol.com) — Internet filtering software with specific gambling category blocking for home and school use.
    • GamBlock (gamblock.com) — Specialized software designed to block access to gambling websites. Available for all major platforms including mobile.
    • BetBlocker (betblocker.org) — Free, open-source gambling blocking software. Supports blocking of thousands of gambling sites across all devices.

We recommend that all adults in households with minors install and configure at least one of the above tools. These applications work independently of any individual casino's age restrictions and provide an additional layer of protection.

    Section 14

    AML Compliance & Integrity Monitor

CrimsonDeck's responsible gambling program operates in conjunction with our Anti-Money Laundering compliance framework and Integrity Monitor system. These systems serve complementary protective functions:

    Integrity Monitor

Our proprietary Integrity Monitor analyses player behaviour in real time, looking for patterns that may indicate either problem gambling or financial crime. The system flags accounts exhibiting:

    • Sudden large increases in deposit frequency or amounts inconsistent with historical behaviour
    • Rapid deposit-and-withdrawal patterns without significant game play (potential money laundering indicator)
    • Playing patterns consistent with bonus abuse or system exploitation
    • Session lengths or wager amounts that exceed established responsible gambling thresholds
    • Access from IP addresses or locations inconsistent with the player's registered Alberta address

When the Integrity Monitor flags an account, a review is initiated by our compliance team. Depending on the nature of the concern, we may contact the player, restrict account access, request additional documentation, or report to FINTRAC or AGLC as required by law.

    AML Interaction with RG Tools

Our AML program and responsible gambling tools share data to provide a comprehensive picture of player activity. For example, a player who sets very low deposit limits but makes large irregular deposits will be flagged by both systems for review. This integrated approach helps us identify and respond to both problem gambling and financial crime more effectively.

    Source of Funds

For players whose cumulative deposits exceed $10,000 CAD in any 30-day period, we are required by AGLC regulations and PCMLTFA to conduct enhanced due diligence, including requesting source-of-funds declarations and supporting financial documentation. Failure to provide satisfactory source-of-funds documentation will result in account restriction and forfeiture of unsupported balances.
